Akea Brionne is an artist who has exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the Baltimore Museum of Art, and the California African American Museum. Her art examines the impact of colonialism on cultural storytelling, memory, assimilation, and economic mobility. Her work is in the collections of the Cranbrook Museum of Art, Wellin Museum, and the Baltimore Museum of Art. She was the youngest artist commissioned for the group show ‘A Movement in Every Direction’, which was named one of the best shows of 2022 by the New York Times.
