A Fox News meteorologist abandoned his live broadcast to save a woman’s life from the floodwaters caused by Hurricane Helene. The reporter, who goes by the name Bob Van Dillen, rescued the woman who was trapped in her car during a live report on Atlanta flooding.

Bob Van Dillen, the Fox News meteorologist, emerged as a savior during a live broadcast report on Atlanta flooding caused by Hurricane Helene. He stopped amid his report to help a woman pinned in her car and stuck in waters caused by the hurricane. Van Dillen was detailing the flooding caused by the hurricane just after 7 am, and in the background of the live shot, viewers could distinctly hear a woman frantically calling for help. As it turned out, the woman drove directly into the floodwaters, resulting in her car getting stuck as water levels quickly rose.
The reporter abandoned his live broadcast and saved the woman’s life.
The clip of Van Dillen rescuing the woman has since gone viral on the internet. He reported the situation to the Fox & Friends hosts, saying, “She drove right into the flood waters.” He also reassured viewers that emergency services had already been called and the local fire department was also on its way to the scene. Around 10 minutes after the rescue, Fox & Friends returned to air with live footage of Van Dillen in chest-deep floodwater, carrying the woman to safety. Around 30 minutes later, Van Dillen rejoined the broadcast, where hosts Ainsley Earhardt and Steve Doocy commended him for his quick thinking and bravery.
