An aircraft carrying two passengers crash land in Australia.

A Piper PA-28 aircraft carrying a 37-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman took off from Bankstown Airport in Sydney’s southwest at approximately 2.20 pm on Thursday. However, only five minutes into the training flight, an engine failure forced an emergency landing near sporting fields at Bossley Park, as reported by the Canberra Times.

The pilot helped soften the impact of the crash.

The pilot successfully maneuvered the aircraft into nearby trees, helping in softening the impact of the crash. The plane carried up to 340 liters of fuel, and both passengers sustained only minor injuries. They were declined further medical treatment by paramedics at the scene. The crash happened adjacent to Mary Immaculate Catholic Primary School, and it happened shortly before students were set to head home for the day. Parents informed the principal of the school about the crash. Hence, teachers and staff quickly donned high-visibility clothing to efficiently manage the situation and comfort a few pretty upset kids.

The data of the aviation tracking site FlightAware revealed that the plane had reached an altitude of about 300m at 144km/h before crash-landing approximately two minutes later.
