He believed he was flying with LATAM Airlines and had no agents at the LATAM counter, so he decided to kill time with a coffee. He realized he was booked with VoePass when he saw no sign of flight 2238 on the departure board. He rushed to the VoePass gate but was told he was already boarding late. He said, “I argued with him and stuff, and that was it, and he saved my life, man.” The second passenger, Jose Felipe, was part of a group of ten who mistakenly thought they were flying with LATAM. Despite persuading an agent, they were denied access to boarding, a decision that saved their lives. He said, “Thank God we didn’t get on that plane.”
