It was reported she rushed back and couldn’t receive the prestigious Volpi Cup for best actress for her new movie “Babygirl.” However, now, she has expressed gratitude to her fans for respecting her privacy after her mother’s death.

The actress expressed her gratitude to fans and friends for their overwhelming support as she continues to cope with the loss of her mother, Janelle Ann Kidman. She shared an emotional post on her Instagram featuring throwback family photos. She added a caption, “My sister and I, along with our family, want to thank you for the outpouring of love and kindness we have felt this week. Every message we have received from those who loved and admired our Mother has meant more to us than we will ever be able to express. Thank you from our whole family for respecting our privacy as we take care of each other.”

Nicole Kidman’s trip to Venice was cut short; she had to rush back immediately after landing because her mother had passed away. Janelle’s death was revealed when the actor won an award for her role in Babygirl at the Venice Film Festival last Saturday. On her behalf, director Halina Reijn accepted the award and shared a statement given by Kidman to her, “I’m in shock, and I have to go to my family, but this award is for her. I am beyond grateful that I get to say her name to all of you. The collision of life and art is heartbreaking, and my heart is broken.”
