Alex Cooper explains her decision to interview Harris in her non-political show.
The widely published interview of Kamala Harris was released on Sunday, in which the US Vice President spoke on women’s rights and abortion. Explaining the decision to talk about politics at the beginning of Sunday’s episode, Alex Cooper said she had been “going back and forth on this decision for a while, to get involved or not get involved.” Clarifying that she doesn’t usually discuss politics or invite politicians on her show, she emphasized, “I want ‘Call Her Daddy’ to be a place where everyone feels comfortable tuning in. But, at the end of the day, I couldn’t see a world in which one of the main conversations in this election is women, and I’m not a part of it.” She stressed that her goal to converse with Harris wasn’t to “change your political affiliation.” Though the podcast usually addresses subjects like relationships, trauma, sex, and mental health, Cooper noted that the main focus is on women and the problems they confront on a daily basis.
Alex Cooper reveals that her show also contacted Donald Trump with the intention of discussing women’s rights on the program, highlighting that “this isn’t a one-sided conversation.” She stated, “He is welcome on ‘Call Her Daddy’ anytime.”
