The former US President left the crowd laughing on his joke on Trump.

Barack Obama, the former US President, campaigned to support Kamala Harris in Pittsburgh, emphasizing her $6,000 child tax credit proposal. On Thursday, Obama hit the campaign trail in Pittsburgh to rally support for Vice President Kamala Harris as she continues her bid for the White House.

Barack Obama praised Harris’ child tax credit proposal.

Obama praised Kamala Harris at his recent speech in Pittsburgh for her proposed policy of providing parents of newborns with a $6,000 child tax credit. This would offer financial relief for families struggling with the cost of raising young children. This proposal exceeds the $3,600 per child credit temporarily provided under the American Rescue Plan.

Obama leaves the crowd laughing and cracking a joke on Donald Trump.

Highlighting the benefits of Kamala Harris’ plan, former US President Barack Obama said, “She wants to make it easier to afford stuff like a crib, or a car seat or diapers.” He then shared a personal story about his experience with the high cost of diapers when his first daughter, Malia, was born in 1998. He said, “I remember changing diapers,” he told the crowd before posing a humorous rhetorical question: “Do you think Donald Trump ever changed a diaper? The crowd burst into laughter, and someone in the crowd quipped, “His own!” Obama laughed and pointed to the audience member, looking clearly amused by the joke, and chuckled, “I almost said that, but I decided I shouldn’t say it.”

Donald Trump has elaborated on his parenting style in past interviews, saying, “I mean, I won’t do anything to take care of them. I’ll supply funds, and she’ll take care of the kids,” referring to his wife, Melania Trump. He further stated, “It’s not like I’m gonna be walking the kids down Central Park.”
