There are speculations about Marvel’s superheroes making a comeback. The reports suggest that they may make a grand return in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). While some comebacks are confirmed, other character returns are only heavily rumored; however, fans want them to be true as well.

Marvel has decided to move toward a new era of superheroes after “Avengers: Endgame.” But fans’ love for the original actors remains loyal, as they have been waiting for them to make their comeback. Well, it is good news for them. Marvel has now decided to have its all-time favorite actors return to the silver screen. Robert Downey Jr., James Spader, Elizabeth Olsen, and more will be on the screen again in the MCU.
Which actors have been confirmed to be returning to the MCU?
In a podcast with the Hollywood Reporter’s “Award Chatter,” Robert Downey Jr. said he will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, he said he would return as Doctor Doom in the upcoming Avengers: Dooms Day. Fans were also surprised to see him at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con as Doom instead of Iron Man, which was the iconic character he played in all of the Avengers projects.
Return to the MCU despite his character’s death in “Avengers: Endgame.”
Robert Downey Jr. kept in touch with President Kevin Feige of Marvel Studios. He initiated having the actor back on screen despite his character’s death in “Avengers: Endgame.” The actor said that Feige told him, “It just keeps occurring to me that if you were to come back …” and additionally mentioned his wife’s reaction, “And Susan was like, ‘Wait, wait, come back as what?’ We both realized this was another thing that disproves any doubt anyone could ever have about the guy, a very sophisticated creative thinker.”
Besides Downey, actor James Spader, who played Ultron in “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” will also return to the MCU and reprise his role as the voice of Ultron in the Marvel/ Disney+ “Wanda Vision” spinoff. Paul Bettany will continue playing Vision, who helped the Avengers destroy Thanos. Rumors say that Elizabeth Olsen and Scarlet Witch will also return to the MCU.
