Johnny Depp will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Rome Film Festival 2024 edition. The actor is even more excited as his latest directorial project, “Modi – Three Days on the Wing of Madness,” will also be screened at the festival, per a Deadline report. His film is about a “seventy-two-hour whirlwind in the life of bohemian artist Amedeo Modigliani” that delves into the artist’s tumultuous experiences amid war-torn Paris in 1916. The film also stars French actor Antonia Desplat and Riccardo Scamarcio.

Modi- Three Days on the Wing of Madness’s synopsis reveals the struggles of Modigliani, who finds himself on the run from the police. As he intends to end his career and leave the city, he meets with resistance from fellow artists Maurice Utrillo, Chaim Soutine, and his muse, Beatrice Hastings. His nights of hallucinations intensify while seeking guidance from his friend and art dealer, Leopold Zborowski. This leads to a critical encounter with American collector Maurice Gangnat, who holds the potential to alter the course of his life, according to Deadline.

 

After making its debut at the San Sebastian Film Festival, the film will now feature at the Rome Film Festival, which will also honor Viggo Mortensen with a Lifetime Achievement Award, where he will showcase his film The Dead Don’t Hurt, as per Deadline.
