Teenagers behind the plot outside Taylor Swift’s concert.

A 19-year-old has been detained in Austria for allegedly plotting to kill people outside the stadium of a Taylor Swift concert. This resulted in cancelling the pop superstar’s three shows in Vienna this week. The other two suspects are also teenagers.

What did the security officials say about the three teenage suspects?

The security officials spoke about the teenagers who were identified as suspects. The 19-year-old is an Austrian national with North Macedonian roots, was arrested on Wednesday during a police operation at his home in Ternitz. The teen confessed to plotting in a video posted online and quit his job on July 25, telling people that he had “big plans.” The suspect changed his appearance recently and had been consuming and sharing Islamist propaganda online.

He was seen acting conspicuously around and near the Ernst Happel Stadium, where Taylor Swift stadium shows had been due to take place on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The 17-year-old was hired by a company that provided services at the stadium. A 15-year-old is also involved in the same, again an Austrian national with Turkish heritage. He said that the main suspect had changed considerably in the last few months and had also enquired regularly about devices for igniting explosives, as told by officials.
