After Joe Biden’s exit, the Russian President declared Kamala Harris the country’s new “favorite” presidential candidate.
Recently, Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia declared how Kamala Harris has become the new “favorite” of the country as the presidential candidate after Joe Biden’s exit, as another tussle of US vs. Russia rages on.
Vladimir Putin unexpectedly pledged his support for Kamala Harris.
During the recent Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Russian President Vladimir Putin unexpectedly pledged his support to Vice President Kamala Harris over former President Donald Trump in the November 5 Presidential election. His comments pro-Harris came during the forum on Thursday, after the Joe Biden administration accused Russia of interfering in the presidential bid.
Calling out the Russian government.
Recently, Attorney General Merrick Garland called out the Russian government’s “covert campaign to interfere and influence the outcome of our country’s elections.” However, the following day, Putin asserted that while President Joe Biden was running for his re-election bid, he was the country’s “favorite.” Now that he has passed on the baton to Harris, she has become the new “favorite” of the country, and Russia is all for supporting the latest Democratic presidential candidate.
What did the Russian president say?
He said, “I told you our favorite if you can call it that, was the current President, Mr. Biden. He was removed from the race, but he recommended all his supporters to support Ms. Harris. So we will do the same. We will support her.” He also acknowledged that the power to pick their “favorites” vested in American people, as he foregrounded that Russia “will respect that choice.”
Speaking on the Harris vs Trump front, Putin said that the Republican presidential hopeful “has introduced such a number of restrictions and sanctions against Russia that no president has ever introduced before. If Ms Harris is doing well, then maybe she will refrain from actions of this kind.”
