WhatsApp rolls out new features for personalizing video calls.
Meta-owned WhatsApp has introduced new features for personalizing video calls with custom backgrounds and filters, allowing users to add a creative and personal touch to both one-on-one and group video calls. In a post on his WhatsApp channel, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg wrote, “Rolling out some new filters and backgrounds for video calls, so had to test them out.” He shared this message while sharing some of the filter and background effects for video calls.
What did Meta say about the new features on WhatsApp?
As per Meta, “Filters are designed to help you create a more playful atmosphere, whether that’s adding a splash of color or creating a more artistic feel for your video. With backgrounds, you can keep your surroundings private and transport yourself to a cozy coffee shop or comfortable living room for a cleaner and more polished look.”
What does the latest WhatsApp update include?
The latest WhatsApp update includes ten filters – Warm, Cool, Black & White, Light Leak, Dreamy, Prism Light, Fisheye, Vintage TV, Frosted Glass, and Duo Tone. The update also offers ten new background options – Blur, Living Room, Office, Cafe, Pebbles, Foodie, Smoosh, Beach, Sunset, Celebration, and Forest. Users can also use touch-up and low-light filters to enhance picture quality during calls, making video chats clearer and more personalized.
Users can initiate a video call on WhatsApp and select the effect icon at the top right corner of their smartphone. From there, they can pick and choose effects or backgrounds. The update has been rolled out for both Android and iOS users.
